KIANDA'S STORY
In April of 2011 Kianda was exposed to Kizomba and Semba for the first time and immediately fell in love with the music and the dances. Motivated to learn as much as she could, She decided to take her training to the next level over the next three years and spent several months and hundreds of hours abroad training with Master Petchu and Vanessa Pura Ginga, along side with
Ricardo Sousa and Paula Lt. of AfroLatin Connection in Portugal.In 2016 Kianda became the owner of Mambo Room cultural dance and event center and created an 18 month instructor training course focusing on 4 core dances, Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba & Semba. This program developed some of the top dancers and instructors in Hampton Roads. Now this program is being personalized into a 6 month course per dance and opening it up this to the world. She counts Traditional Rumba, Hip Hop, and the various Latin and African cultures as major influences/inspirations.
She is best known for her ability to break down complex movement and quickly intuit underlying problems and solutions to dancers at all levels. Her hallmark style is teach you how to stay true to yourself while sharing her passion with the world. She currently resides between Hampton Roads Virginia, Atlanta Georgia, and Luanda Angola.
